To celebrate the end of the first tennis grand slam for the 2017 tennis season, this is our final interview with one of our Brand Ambassadors, junior tennis player, Jayla Tran. We hope you enjoyed the first tennis grand slam for 2017 as well as our interviews with our Brand Ambassadors.

How old are you?
Where do you live?
Lives in Point Cook, Melbourne. Trains in Maribyrnong at the Rosamond Tennis Club.
How many years have you been playing tennis for?
Has been active in tennis now for 4 years in Hot Shots.
How many hours/days per week do you train?
Trains privately for around 4-6 hours per week under the guidance of her High Performance Coach Mat O’Brien.
What tennis competitions do you play (tournaments, pennants etc)?
Currently Jayla competes in WRTA competitions with the goal this year to compete in tournaments and represent her region in Junior Pennants.
What colour tennis balls are you playing with?
Why do you play tennis?
Jayla plays Tennis out of a genuine love of the game. Her mother and other family tried to coax her into other sports when younger but Tennis kept winning.
Who are your favourite tennis players and why?
Her favourite players are Rafa Nadal, Victoria Azarenka, Sam Stosur, Dasha, Djokovic and Federer.
What is your favourite Tennis Grand Slam and why?
Jaylas favourite Grand Slam is the AO as she hasn’t been to the others (Yet!) but as Tennis Australia’s Hot Shot of the Year winner, she had the most amazing experience meeting some of the sports finest players, having Alicia Molik attend her home club including a lesson and mentoring and ended presenting Li Na with a bouquet on Rod Laver Arena at the Woman’s AO Finals and helped present the Hot Shot of the Year award with Alicia Molik at the prestigious Newcombe Medal Awards.
What are your goals/dreams?
Jayla's dreams and goals are to become a pro tennis player and represent Australia in the Fed Cup, and to travel the world and win all 4 Tennis Grand Slam trophies.
What is your favourite surface to play on?
Jayla enjoys playing on clay, she says “hard court bounces too high (for now). The only downside of clay is that it dirties her favourite pair of Honore Socks!”
What do you think of the Honoré Activewear range?
Jayla says the Honoré Activewear looks really cool, she loves the built in shorts on all the skirts as her ball pocket and says the socks are the most comfortable she's worn.
Do you have a favourite Honoré Activewear outfit?
Her favourite tennis outfit is the black and white one.
